Job Description

This position will support a randomized controlled trial of a primary care-based intervention to prevent obesity among low-income Latino infants and toddlers. Roles may include trial recruitment, data collection via surveys and medical records review, and conducting 24-hour dietary recalls with parents of infants and toddlers at well child visits and over the phone. The study will take place at two sites: the San Francisco General Hospital Children’s Health Center and the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center outpatient clinic in Sunnyvale, CA and will enroll low-income Latino families who are primarily Spanish speaking. Candidates should expect to work in person at the San Francisco site approximately 2.5 days week and at the Sunnyvale site on the other days. There will be a limited amount of remote work each week.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: - HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities; and/or equivalent experience/training. - Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team. - Attention to detail. - Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects. - Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co-workers, & physicians. - Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is a requirement for this position. Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated proficiency with medical terminology. - Experience working with patients or study subjects. - Ability to abstract data from medical records and transfer it to data collection forms or directly into databases.
