Job Summary:

Manages the operations of healthcare practices(s) to include fiscal, human resources and practice management operations. Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations for HBC (Hematology, Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy), Parnassus Infusion Center. The Administrative Director will work independently and have primary responsibility for the supervision of administrative staff and shared oversight for the medical assistant and nursing staff.  The Administrative Director will be responsible for supervising the operational, human resource, administrative and business functions of Hematology, Blood & Marrow Transplant, Cancer Immunotherapy, the Parnassus Infusion Center (including Apheresis and Photopheresis), Parnassus locations of Geri-Oncology, Psycho Oncology, Cancer Diagnostics,  and Symptom Management and any satellite and affiliated clinics when those practices provide services at more than one location. The Administrative Director must have the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and work well with staff, patients and providers. A high degree of independence, initiative, assertiveness, and diplomacy are necessary in dealing with faculty, staff and patients in a complex environment.  The Administrative Director has daily oversight of the practice financial operations to ensure compliance with existing funds flow model and allocation of expense.  The Administrative Director also works on a regular basis with leadership in the Departments of; Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Medicine, Psychiatry, Pathology, Radiology, Infusion Services, Periop, Sterile processing and specific inpatient units where surgery patients are admitted to ensure practice operations are meeting departmental objectives

The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center is an accredited National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center. The NCI-Designation recognizes the scientific leadership, resources, and the depth and breadth of the research in basic, clinical and population science.  As a Comprehensive Cancer Center, we demonstrate the added depth and breadth of research as well as substantial transdisciplinary research that bridges these scientific areas. The clinical services encompass adult and pediatric tumors across three campuses as well as regional satellite locations.  The clinical cancer program is one of the largest clinical services at UCSF Medical Center and encompasses roughly 230 non-physician FTEs, 90+ cost center, and dozens of grant and philanthropic funding sources.  At the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center we are truly pioneering care and leaders in all areas of cancer clinical care and research.  We are routinely voted a top 10 program by U.S. News and World Report.
 

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent combination of experience / training. - Minimum of 3 years overall experience in related field - Clinic / center management experience, with progressive expertise in practice management, scheduling, customer-service methods, incident reporting, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and information technology. - Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate and delegate work functions efficiently. - Demonstrated managerial skills and human resources management knowledge, including staff deployment, resource utilization, budgeting and financial management, quality improvement, and program planning and implementation. - Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills to convey complex information, instructions, and guidelines in a clear, concise, and specific manner, and to influence and persuade all levels of staff. - Knowledge of relevant healthcare and clinic operations information technology, including billing systems and patient care workflows and processes. - Minimum of 3 years overall experience in related field Preferred Qualifications: - Master’s degree in related field - Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.
