Description & Requirements

Job Description

UCSF Health is seeking an Interoperability & Integration Specialist to join a small team delivering secure, reliable clinical system integrations within the Health Enterprise. This role is ideal for a hands-on integration engineer who excels at connecting systems end-to-end—translating data, orchestrating workflows, and ensuring dependable service-to-service communication.

The successful candidate will work as part of a broader team focused on delivering and supporting clinical applications, partnering closely with UCSF Health’s enterprise integration teams (including MuleSoft and Epic Bridges), the Epic and clinical applications support team, and AI team to deliver interoperable solutions. While the role requires a working knowledge of MuleSoft, APIs, and HL7-based integration approaches, the primary focus will be to design and build prototype integrations using established integration patterns (e.g., FHIR-based APIs and web services, HL7), validate feasibility and data flow, and collaborate with the enterprise teams to align prototypes with UCSF standards for scalability, reliability, safe deployment, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of custom solutions.
