Job Description
As a PC Authorization Coordinator, you will work closely with administrative, clinical, and management teams to support practice operations and customer service. Your primary responsibility is to secure financial clearance, manage authorizations, and provide support for billing functions. You will work independently to resolve billing issues and ensure payor reimbursement. This role requires an advanced understanding of healthcare terminology, processes, and workflow, as well as excellent people skills and communication abilities.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent with 4 years of related experience, or a college degree with 6 months of experience. - Strong computer skills, including basic keyboarding and Office-type software proficiency. - Ability to analyze situations, work independently, and prioritize tasks. - Excellent customer service and communication skills, both over the phone and in person. - Proven ability to deal with a diverse range of individuals and patients. - Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with strong writing abilities. - Demonstrated knowledge of medical practice terminology and administrative coordination. - Prior experience in healthcare, appointment scheduling, or patient financial services is preferred. - Bi-lingual capability (Spanish, Cantonese, or Russian) is strongly preferred. - Prior experience with EPIC is an asset.
