JOB SUMMARY:

The OR Equipment Technician, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, will participate as an integral member of the patient care team.  The OR Equipment Technician performs multiple support functions directed toward improved efficiencies in the OR and positive patient care outcomes.

All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high quality patient care and customer service is consistently provided.  Team members promote a cooperative working relationship with each other, physicians, other disciplines and the public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty and respect, displaying sensitivity to cultural differences, and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Required qualifications must be possessed by any candidate to be considered for the position. These qualifications will be included in the job posting/advertisement and will be used to screen applicants. Note: Only objective, specific and quantifiable (KSAs) will be used when screening (i.e. 6 months of event planning experience vs. prior event planning experience). Preferred qualifications are those skills or abilities that an ideal candidate possesses, but are not required in order for a candidate to be considered for the position. Please list: Type/Details Req/Pref Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities and perform well under pressure to meet deadlines. Req Demonstrate strong personal computer and typing skills. Ability to understand the complexities within a specialty department. Req Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Req Demonstrate willingness to be a team player. Req Knowledge of medical terminology. Pref Education Req / Pref Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science; or two years of college courses in the natural sciences plus two years of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
