Job Description

With general supervision from a licensed behavioral health clinician, the Clinical Social Worker I/II works within the Stimulant Treatment Outpatient Program (STOP) by providing substance use disorders services using evidence-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices adapted for adults with serious mental illness and high psychiatric and/or justice system involvement. The CSWI/II provides comprehensive assessment, group and individual counseling, contingency management, targeted case management, and community outreach in coordination with Citywide mental health intensive case management and psychiatric programs. 

 

 

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - CSW I: Master’s degree in social work, psychology or related field from an accredited university, registered or eligible to register with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (as ASW, AMFT, or APCC), and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. - CSWII: Master’s degree in social work, psychology or related field from an accredited university and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure (as LCSW, LMFT or LPCC) as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. - Strong interpersonal skills that promote effective work and collaboration with individuals of diverse backgrounds in multicultural environments. - Clear, well-organized oral and written communication skills. - Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately; detail oriented. Ability to set priorities, work independently, follow up reliably, and efficiently meet deadlines. Ability to work in a high stress area and apply sound judgment when under pressure. - Ability to quickly learn, use, and problem-solve, electronic health records, and digital applications and devices. - Experience working in behavioral health or medical settings with ability to further learn concepts and terminology pertinent to behavioral health services. - Demonstrated skills in evidence-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed individual and group substance use counseling, with clients with substance use disorders, serious mental illness and disruptive behaviors. - One year providing clinical or case management services to adults with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders. - Ability to work safely and efficiently in a variety of environments, including street, low-income housing, jail and hospital settings. - Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs. - Demonstrated punctual attendance and reliability. - Knowledge of ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards pertaining to substance use. - Ability to pass background clearance, including for crimes, fraud, or abuse related to federal healthcare programs. A preliminary job offer may be job offer may be extended pending successful background clearance.
