JOB SUMMARY

This position requires the individual to be flexible in their work schedule. This individual is considered an expert-level IR Tech. The ability to self-direct and to organize a varied workload is required. This incumbent demonstrates competency in assisting with VIR, Neuro Endovascular procedures and Vascular Surgery procedures from newborn through geriatric patient population.

The IR Technologist advanced responsibilities can include, yet are not limited to the following:  

  • Demonstrate competency actively and participate in the lead/coordinator role.  
  • Active participation in an annual performance improvement project or active participation in IR 
  • Quality Assurance/Radiation Safety meetings.  
  • Demonstrate competency and the ability to instruct one or more of the advanced procedures.  
     
Qualifications
Required Qualifications for Sr. IR Tech classification: - Minimum 3-6  years  of IR experience for Sr. IR Tech. Minimum 7 years of IR experience for Principal IR Tech. - Previous experience in healthcare  environment required (minimum 3-5 years).  - Graduate of a formal radiology technology-training program in an AMA approved school.  - Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays. Must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locations - Must be willing to learn and train in Neuro-IR and Body-IR - Must be willing to circulate and fill scrubbing roles during procedures as necessary - Ability to self direct and organize a varied workload REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS - ARRT Licensure   - CRT Licensure  - BLS (CPR) Certification  - VIR Certification within 1 year of hire for Sr. IR Tech. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION - Prefer recent work experience in an acute care setting  - Prefer  VIR  Certification  or obtained  within 1 year of hire
