Job Description

The OR Equipment Technician, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, will participate as an integral member of the patient care team.  They are responsible for various support functions, including equipment management, patient transportation, and effective communication with the healthcare team. The OR Equipment Technician performs multiple support functions directed toward improved efficiencies in the OR and positive patient care outcomes. This position requires a collaborative and proactive approach to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: - High school graduate - Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. - Basic mathematical skills to quickly and accurately add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers and decimals manually or using a calculator - Ability to work independently with good organizational skills. - Ability to work within a team. - Must possess good communication skills. - Ability to think critically and proactively to support the OR team. - Ability to prioritize and multi-task to support multiple Surgeons and staff. - Ability to work in a fast-paced complex environment. - Must be able to see well and read in dim light. - Must have manual dexterity to manipulate small equipment including, but not limited to, twisting bulbs, turning dials, changing batteries, and pushing buttons. Must be able to move in confined spaces. Must be able to repetitively lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds - Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job description. - Willingness to be taught/learn new skills. Preferred Qualifications: - One year of operating room or patient care setting experience
