Job Description

The clinical Nurse/RN is a professional caregiver who utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care to patients, and also provides teaching of groups to patients and families for a designated time frame. The clinical nurse also functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. The clinical nurse assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

 

Qualifications
Required qualifications: - 1 year of pediatric inpatient acute care experience as a registered nurse required - Effective communication skills - Ability to use basic computer systems and to be trained in current electronic medical records in use - Strong organizational skills - Maintains emotional stability - Requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF BCH Oakland units other than ED and PACU, after 6 months of employment and completion of probationary period. - The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure/Certification: - Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of California - Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification - Current Healthcare Provider PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
