Job Description

The Hospital Assistant III, under the supervision of the Practice Manager, guided by the policies and procedures of the Center for Reproductive Health and Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the physician staff, has the clinical responsibility for developing and maintaining a high standard of patient care. S/he will perform clinical duties and coordination specific to unassisted and assisted reproductive techniques as well as Andrology and gynecological treatment. Primary responsibility is to perform assigned patient care and laboratory procedures in support of the primary and specialty care services provided to patients within the practice. The HAIII is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff, and for daily operations. All components of care will be individualized to meet the patient’s physiological and psychosocial development level and needs. The HAIII consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor and shall comply with the Medical Center House and Telephone Standards

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION - Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent combination of training and experience. - Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. - Current American Heart Association CPR Certification - Phlebotomy trained with a CPT-1 license - Minimum of 1 year of recent experience working in a busy health care environment. - Familiarity with insurance verification and authorizations - Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time, with no restrictions for keyboarding. - Strong computer skills, including basic keyboarding skills, and experience and ability to work effectively in Word and Excel. - Ability to prioritize and work efficiently with multiple forms of patient & provider communication including email, fax and phone system. - Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. - Excellent verbal skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills - Strong writing skills to include the ability to compose basic office communications. - Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with patients. - Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with team physicians and referring physicians REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS - Current American Heart Association CPR Certification - Current California CPT-1 license
